This Fig Banana Smoothie with figs, bananas, and your choice of a non-diary milk is a must-try. It has a honey sweet and mildly earthy taste.

Honey sweet and earthy Fig Banana Smoothie.

It seems like I have been looking out for fresh figs to appear in my neck of the woods like forever. So happy to tell you that they finally did! Thankfully, the wait is finally over and they did not disappoint. Up until now, I have never tasted fresh figs. I always thought they look beautiful and I do think they have a flavor to match.

Fresh Figs

They are sweet but not overly so with a very mild hint of earthiness or even smokiness. The texture is a cross between a peach and a strawberry – smooth with slightly crunchy seeds. All in all, I would consider it to be a mild fruit in a good way. As such, I figured it would be good in a smoothie. If not, I would only have used up 2 bananas, 8 figs, and 5 minutes of my time.

Smoothie for Breakfast

Since the beginning of summer, Ro-Ri San and I have been having smoothies for breakfast two to three times a week. We had decided last night that this morning will be a smoothie morning as I was eager to give this Fig Banana Smoothie a try. I had two very ripe bananas that needed to be used and that worked well with the ripe figs giving the smoothie a natural sweetness. For the liquid, I used unsweetened soy milk but coconut or almond milk are good choices as well.

Luscious Fig Banana Smoothie

So, if you are a smoothie kind of person, I urge you to give this Fig Banana Smoothie a try ASAP while fresh figs can still be found out there. In my books, this recipe is definitely a keeper! I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

Also, do check out my other smoothie recipes by clicking on my “Recipe” tab above or any of the suggestions in the “Related Posts” below. A smoothie is a good way to start the morning and it is the way to go for a healthier life style. What’s more? It takes only 5 minutes to prepare and even faster to drink it all up! I promise you’ll be energized and out of the door in no time at all. ๐Ÿ™‚

    5 stars
So yummy! I only had dried figs and it was still fantastic! To add a little extra nutrients, I blended some spinach into almond milk before adding the banana and fig. This will be a keeper for sure!
