This Christmas is as white as Christmases come. With fresh snow still falling, it really is pretty outside. That snowy landscape is best viewed from the comfort of the warm interior of your home by a nice roaring fire.
Every year our celebration starts with Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church to commemorate Christ as the Light of World. He is the reason for the season. There is no Christmas without Christ.
After the service, we get home in time to finish preparing the rest of the Christmas dinner and to receive our guests for the evening.
This year, I decided on a bunch of appetizers and starters. I found these really cute picks which I thought would make a lovely presentation for these Prosciutto Wrapped Melon.
I also found some lovely cocktail serving glasses at a second hand store which I used for this Shrimp Cocktail.
For the main course, we had Roasted Boneless Leg of Lamb with a Yogurt Mint Sauce to go with it. We had two side dishes of Seared Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Mayo and Israeli Couscous with Cranberries. It was all very delectable. Recipes will be posted in the days ahead.
After dinner we adjourned downstairs for dessert by the fire.
Christmas morning is for opening presents (this is so that we can build up anticipation in the kids). I am sure they slept well through the night. 😉
The temperature today is in the mid 20’s which is perfect for skating. Since most people are away, we had the lake pretty much to ourselves. Here I am sporting my new snowboarding jacket from hubby. 🙂

Merry Christmas, Biren! What lovely colours you brought out to contrast the white landscape outside! We did not have a White Christmas this year, instead we had a visits twice from Mr Strong Wind, once on Christmas Eve and again this morning… The winds were so strong that I could hear our roof tops rattling and the whistling of the wind down our chimney… so really no white Christmas. Just windy and cold. We did have some rain as well. I’m pretty sure we will have a snow storm early next year, as in past years..
