This delicious Apricot Pear Smoothie is a wonderful pick-me-up in the morning or during snack time. It is fresh, fruity, with a hint of tartness.
It has been a while since I posted a smoothie recipe. This fresh and fruity Apricot Pear Smoothie was sitting in draft mode for far too long. Good thing apricots are still in season though it will be coming to an end soon. For some reason these beautiful orange colored fruits are not as popular as peaches or nectarines. More dried apricots are eaten and used in cooking than fresh apricots.
Apricots
Since apricots are much smaller fruits, I have combined it with juicy Bartlett pear and almond milk. Can’t go wrong with pears. I always have a supply of organic pears in the refrigerator as it is both my boys’ favorite fruit.
As always, I prefer not to use any sweeteners in my smoothies. Add some honey if you like your smoothie a little sweet. Do check out this link or the “beverage” tab at the drop-down menu above for other smoothies on this blog.

I never really use fresh apricots (more jams)… but now I must start because I have been missing a lot of delicious flavors from the fresh fruit. This smoothie looks perfect. 🙂

Apricots are such tasty fruits. Wish they have a longer season though.

I love the comb of stone fruit and pear in this smoothie. Looks absolutely delectable, Biren.

Apricot and pear – that’s a different combination, and it sounds delicious! Will have to use frozen apricots however. No fresh apricots in ABQ this year. Last year people couldn’t give them away so since I did accept quite a few, I have lots of them frozen. Need to try this!

You have such wonderful neighbors and friends. Tree ripen fruits are the best! Enjoy…

Sounds yummy, I have been drinking apple juice mixed with some herbal leaves which my neighbour said is good for detoxing…this smoothie would make a great diet drink:D

Wow, you have piqued my curiosity! I am wondering what kind of herb you are using in your detox program. 🙂

No, I did not freeze the fruit but you can certainly do that if preferred.
