Thick, luscious, creamy, and satisfying Blackberry Banana Smoothie.

It is not often that I buy blackberries but when I do see them at the grocery store, it is hard for me not to place a pack in my cart. I think they are beautiful berries with the most awesome shade of purply berry color when pureed. Though not always the sweetest berries around, they do give a nice tang to salads and are awesome in smoothies.

Smoothie for Lunch

Today’s Blackberry Banana Smoothie is a quick one I whipped up for myself for a light lunch. A smoothie was all I needed after a late breakfast. It was thick, luscious, creamy, and quite satisfying. I added a little honey as a sweetener since both the blackberries and plain Greek yogurt were a little tart. I am glad I did as the taste of the smoothie turned out to be just about right – not too sweet and not too tart.

Creamy and satisfying Blackberry Banana Smoothie.

This recipe is sufficient for two if taken together with other foods for breakfast. It makes for a large portion for one but is perfect if taken on its own as a light lunch. Keep it for yourself or share it but definitely try it! 😉

Love the Color

Don’t you just love the color of this luscious smoothie? It is just the most awesome shade of purple berry color and the best thing is that it is all natural. No artificial food coloring whatsoever and this smoothie is so luscious, creamy, and healthy.

The sweetness of the banana must compliment the tart blackberries nicely. Looks like a delicious smoothie. 🙂
