One has to be really creative with left-overs, especially after the holidays. I came up with the idea of making roast ham into this Quick and Easy Char Siew (Chinese barbecue pork) some years back. It was really easy and a hit with the family. I made it again for dinner yesterday.
- 1 lb (450g) roast ham, sliced
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp five-spice powder
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). In a small bowl mix hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, and five-spice powder. Brush onto ham slices. Place on a baking tray and roast for 30 minutes.
This is great with rice or used as sandwich meat.
Enjoy…..and have a wonderful day! 😎
