28 Chinese New Year Recipes – ushering in the Lunar New Year with delicious and auspicious dishes for a prosperous year ahead.

28 Chinese New Year Recipes

Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Chinese New Year’s eve is the day set aside for the Reunion Dinner. Traditionally, all unmarried and married male offspring together with their families from near and far are expected to join their parents for this feast. It is a time of great joy and celebration and one that is not to be missed.

28 Chinese New Year Recipes

In Chinese culture, certain numbers are believed to be auspicious. The number 2 is considered a good number because “good things come in pairs”. In Cantonese, two is the homophone for “easy”. The number 8 is much favored because it is the homophone for “prosper”. Therefore, the number 28 is really auspicious because it sounds like “easy to prosper”. Hence, here are 28 Chinese New Year Recipes that I have lined up here for you. Chinese New Year is celebrated over 15 days and so you will have lots of opportunities to try out these dishes.
